Special Note:
If you are taking certain supplements or hormones, there are special instructions for
collection. When taking any of the following supplements and hormones -- Pregnenolone,
Progesterone, Cortisol, DHEA, Androstenedione, Androstenediol, Testosterone, Estrone,
Estriol, Estradiol or any other steroid hormone:
1) Make sure at least one month has passed since you started taking hormone supplements
before beginning any of the HormoneChecks. Time is required before the hormone reaches
equilibrium with binding proteins in the blood, specimens collected too soon do not
accurately reflect hormone concentrations in the saliva.
2) The specimen must be collected 24 hours after last dose. Preferably, the specimen
should be collected in the morning, before the daily morning dose is taken. If you are
taking one of the hormones or supplements twice a day, consult with your Health Care
Provider about reducing your dosage to once a day. Since hormones all affect each other,
these two rules apply to ANY screen if ANY of the above items are being taken

HORMONES CAN DEFINITELY MAKE YOU A BETTER ATHLETE
Hormones are essential for the proper function of your body, athlete or otherwise.
Whether you're exercising as part of a healthy lifestyle, training as part of your
involvement in a specific sport, or into serious bodybuilding, two hormones, testosterone
and cortisol, can help you get the most out of your workout. Having proper levels of these
hormones allows your body to function at its maximum potential.
PerformanceCheck by BodyBalance measures your levels of these two hormones that
are responsible for much of your body's functioning ability. Testosterone, commonly
recognized as the "male" hormone, is also very important to women as well. In
addition to sexual development and function, testosterone plays a vital role for men and
women in lean muscle and bone development, lean body mass, and cardiovascular health.
Cortisol activates your body when stress is imposed upon it, maintaining and even
increasing your energy levels, as well as sustaining your blood pressure at proper levels.
Both of these hormones are essential for optimal athletic performance.
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU...
PerformanceCheck is a safe, easy-to-use, and reliable health screen that uses a
saliva sample to measure your levels of testosterone and cortisol, hormones necessary for
an effective workout. This non-invasive and inexpensive health screen provides you the
accuracy of a laboratory analysis without leaving the comfort of your own home. PerformanceCheck
is designed for two types of people: those who are into more overall physical,
endurance-type training; and those who are interested in bodybuilding, gaining muscle mass
and adding bulk to their frames. Whichever category fits you best, PerformanceCheck
can provide equally powerful benefits. When you order your health screen, we'll send a
complete kit to you. You collect the required saliva sample and send it back to us in the
prepaid return mailer provided. Within 7-10 working days of receiving your sample, we'll
send your results to you.
WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOURSELF...
The obvious dedication you have to improving your physical condition shows not only in
your physical appearance, but also in the attention you are paying to how your body
functions as well. With the information you'll receive from your PerformanceCheck
health screen, you'll know how your testosterone and cortisol levels compare to levels
that are necessary for maximum athletic conditioning. If your results show that your
levels could be improved, you can then work with your personal health care provider or a
experienced physical trainer to develop a productive and safe plan for balancing your
hormone levels for maximum benefit. The goal of PerformanceCheck is to provide you
with valuable information you can use to enhance your workouts and the benefit you receive
from your hard work.
